WHAT IS A TEEMA?

We refer to Teema’s as towels because quite literally, they are Turkish towels, but Teemas are different than what most people in the US would consider a towel. Teemas are flat woven, meaning they do not have exposed loops like terry cloth towels do. This means that Teemas use significantly less fabric, which makes them much lighter and faster drying then regular terry cloth towels, at the cost of being slightly less absorbent.

ARE ALL TEEMAS THE SAME?

No. Each collection varies slightly in terms of size and weight. Some have a looser weave, making them softer and more blanket-like, like the Labyrinth and Diamanté, while others have a tighter weave making them lighter and more portable, like the Simple and Layers.

WHAT CAN I USE IT FOR?

Versatility is what truly sets Teemas apart from standard towels. Because they are so much lighter, more portable, and more stylish than terry cloth, they work just as well as blankets, throws, scarves, shawls, wraps, and more!

BLANKET

Outside of being a towel, Teemas next, most obvious use, is as a blanket. Thanks to their large size and softness, Teemas make the perfect on-the-go blanket. Having a picnic at the park? Teema. Sitting around a campfire? Teema. Getting cold in between sets at Coachella? Teema. Trying to sleep on a plane but getting blasted by the AC? Teema. As you can see, Teemas are appearing in a lot of places you’d never expect to see a towel. Hold on... before you go buy one, let us blow your mind a few more times.

SHAWL, SCARF, & WRAP

Thanks to their light fabric and ridiculously stylish designs, Teemas can also be used as several different accessories/articles of clothing. Got enough sun at the beach and need a cover? Teema. At Burning Man and need a shawl? Teema. Live in a warm climate but visiting a cold climate and want to be stylish but down actually own any scarves? You guessed it, TEEMA BABY. Again, it’s clear that Teemas are more than just a towel and are essentially in a league of their own.

Taking Care of Your Teema

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY TEEMA?

As we mentioned earlier, Turkish cotton gets softer with each wash, so don't be afraid to take your Teema for a ride in the spin cycle.

WHAT IF MY TASSLE COMES UNTIED?

Fixing untied tassles is very simple. Just separate the threads into two equal sections, twist both sections clockwise, twist both sections together counter-clockwise, and tie a knot at the end.

CAN I PUT MY TEEMA IN THE WASHER?

Yes, your Teema can absolutley be put in the washer. We recommend washing your Teema in a normal or gentle cycle with cold or warm water.

CAN I PUT MY TEEMA IN THE DRYER?

Teemas are made from 100% cotton, so if you dry them in high heat, they will shrink a bit. That being said, drying on a tumble dry or low heat setting is recommended. Unlike terry cloth towels, you also have the option to very quickly hang dry your Teema.
